BAXI have been manufacturing gas boilers in the UK for over a half a century. Baxi Heating has grown from small beginnings in 1966 to an established group of award-winning brands including Potterton, Main Heating, Megaflo and many others. Articulating, then implementing, the perfect HR IT solution
When BAXI invested in a new HR system, they were expecting a unified solution that could cover HR, Payroll and Employee & Manager portals. Resourcelink Aurora had the potential to provide everything BAXI needed, but communication issues with BAXI’s third-party supplier, and a lack of in-house systems expertise, left this award-winning business with a half-finished solution for 12 months.
Following a recommendation from a previous client, BAXI reached out to Aide HR for help. Already 12 months behind schedule, BAXI urgently needed to go live with their Employee & Manager Self-Service Portal. They knew what they needed the Resourcelink software to deliver, but they lacked the systems expertise to communicate their precise requirements in technical terms. Aide HR’s combined IT and HR expertise bridged the gap perfectly and enabled BAXI to customise Resourcelink and provide the bespoke user-friendly facility that BAXI so desperately needed.
Making the HRIS work for the business
Resourcelink is a powerful, flexible software that has endless potential, but BAXI weren’t set up to reap the benefits of the software. Aide HR’s immersive approach meant that we had a deep understanding of the BAXI business before producing a user-friendly HRIS solution bespoke to BAXI.
Aide HR spent time in BAXI’s offices and took the time to understand BAXI’s requirements in detail. Once we knew BAXI’s business as well as our own, we delivered a plan that BAXI could easily understand and visualise. BAXI could see exactly what the final result would look like before they signed off on the work; Aide HR’s combined IT and HR experience meant that we could act as technical project managers, implementing a new configuration that delivered all of the missing functionality. We also spent time future-proofing the original HR & Payroll setup, so that BAXI could continue to benefit from subsequent Resourcelink software updates.
A bespoke solution in just 20 days

- Future-proofed the previous build of Resourcelink Aurora with a rebuild
- Scoped, built, tested and rolled out the Employee Self Service Portal, including online Payslips
- Scoped, built and tested the Manager Self Service Portal (with plans in place for roll-out)
- Reviewed, reconfigured and rolled out an online appraisal platform
- Resolved security and configuration concerns surrounding the implementation on Single Sign On, allowing BAXI IT to implement this for the first time in the company
- Trained staff on time-saving functions like CSV data upload
By the end of the project, BAXI had a truly bespoke HRIS solution, and had achieved savings of £10,000 on implementation costs alone.
